We are supporting Washington State Department of Transportation (WSDOT) Olympic Region's Fish Passage Program, developing both Preliminary Hydraulic Designs and Final Hydraulic Designs for some of the state's most complex fish habitat challenges. We regularly use hydrologic and hydraulic modeling tools to support culvert and bridge design, as well as stream channel assessments related to sediment transport and scour. Our team applies 2D modeling software such as HEC-RAS and SRH-2D, and hydrologic models including HEC-HMS and HSPF.We have developed and calibrated HSPF models for watersheds ranging from a few square miles to over 700 square miles in the Tualatin River Basin.These models have been used to support TMDL development and evaluate the effectiveness of BMP and LID implementations. Currently,we are leading an innovative HSPF modeling effort to explore the use of a resilient stream corridor approach for regional stormwater management. Northwest Watersheds will help the City turn complex stream restoration challenges into implementable, community-focused solutions.
