Using a%-inch- diameter steel foundation probe, I evaluated the exposed subgrade that consisted of brown fine-grained soil with cobbles covered in 2-3 inches of crushed rock. Resulting penetrations indicated the subgrade at probed locations to be stiff to very stiff. Conclusion Based on our observations and probing, it is our opinion that the subgrade observed today as indicated on the attached site plan, has been prepared in general accordance with the project plans and our geotechnical recommendations.
