Tigard Public Library Board Minutes
MEETING DATE/TIME: Wednesday,March 11, 2020 6:30 p.m.

1. CALL To ORDER:
Chair Harris called the meeting to order at 6:38 p.m.

3. APPROVE MINUTES
The minutes from the February 12,2020 Board meeting were reviewed. No changes were requested.
Motion by Mary Bogert. Second by Kate Ristau to approve the February 12, 2020 minutes.

4. AGENDA ADDITIONS AND DELETIONS
No changes were suggested.
5. LIBRARY OPERATIONS
Library Director Bernard updated the Board on the COVID-19 precautions and measures the library is
taking. The February 2020 Statistical Report was distributed to the Board. Halsted Bernard provided
updates on programming.The Board was informed of the new Opportunity Cafe which will set up shop
in May in the cafe space in the front library lobby.
6. PREPARING ANNUAL REPORT FOR JOINT MEETING WITH CITY COUNCIL
The Board will meet with the Council at the April workshop on 4/21/20. The Board will be focusing
on sharing how inclusive and equitable the library is as a community resource. Discussion ensued. The
Board has invited members of the Library Teen Council to attend the joint meeting with the Council to
report the success of the new Teen Scene.

8. ADJOURNMENT
Chair Harris adjourned the meeting at 7:26 p.m. The next meeting of the Tigard Library Board is
scheduled for Wednesday,April 8, 2020 at 6:30 p.m.in the Library Conference Room.
