Purpose:- Observe Lots 139.142 Subgrade
Outstanding Issues: FR-305(01/27/2020)Soft subgrade Lots 139-140
I observed Lots 139-142 had uncompacted crushed rock over lot subgrade(see site plan).Subgrade appeared to
consist of brown silt. Using a'A"diameter steel foundation probe,I observed the relative consistency of the
subgrade.Probe resistance indicated generally medium stiff to stiff subgrade conditions,with the exception of the
south portion of Lots 139 and 140.For lots 139& 140,1 observed approx,3"of saturated,soft subgrade
under the loose crushed rock.We recommend removing the soft,wet material from the lot subgrades to firm,
unyielding soil.i observed Lots 139&140 to have weeds growing through the loose crushed rock,we recommend
the removal of the weeds from the subgrade:
While onsite,I observed the retaining wall on the west side of lot 139 to be missing blocks,and geogrid could be
observed:After discussion with Rob with Polygon, It is GeoDesign's understanding the retaining wall will be
backf#led due to grading changes for lot 139.
Based on our observations,It is our opinion the lot subgrade observed today(with the exception of the soft areas
and weeds mentioned above)have been prepared in general accordance with our geotechnical recommendations„
