Dear Mr.Prunty
As discussed today with both you and the City Inspector,the wood posts were installed to
the bottom of the footing on a concrete paver.The 8 x 8 paver is not adequate for support
of the gravity loads for the patio cover. Install(2) 5/8"diameter through bets with nuts
and washers through the post;similar to the 1/2"bolt already installed.These bolts will
have the capacity to lock into the concrete and support the gravity loading.
The reinforcing steel was placed up in the footing and runs past the sides of the wood
posts.This is acceptable. Once the bolts are installed,it is okay to pour the footings.
