City staff has reviewed your application and based on the relevant approval criteria in
the Urban Forestry Manual, your application has been:
Development Tree Replacement Required
Approved with conditions:
The applicant shall plant a replacement tree for each tree removed, or pay a fee in
lieu of planting, in accordance with the Development Tree Replacement Standards
in Section 7, part 2 of the Urban Forestry Manual. Existing trees may be considered
as replacement trees if they meet all applicable species, size, condition and
location requirements in Section 7, part 2 and were not already required to be
planted or preserved by the Tigard Municipal Code.
This decision is final and valid for a period of up to one year after issuance unless
otherwise specified. Nothing prevents you from submitting another tree permit
application if the conditions and circumstances surrounding this removal have
changed.

We are asking for removal of 1 dead pine tree located in front of leafs auto repair at
building 14344. This tree poses a huge fire hazard and is unsafe around this building. See
picture as this tree is completely dead. This tree over hangs the building, parking and
walkway. This area is in constant use.
We are asking to replant with one Hinoki cypress in this same locations

Good morning sir!
For nelson we are good to go with Western redcedar versus a Hinoki, that makes sense due to the maturity of
the pine trees.
For the Pac trust site we would prefer to go with a deodar cedar on site here for a few reasons, one being if
we stay with the same type of species we take the risk of having the same issues we are seeing right now. This
is the site we did numerous samples to do the excessiveness of the resinous which is the possibility of either
root disease or root rot fungus (which were seeing on that one fir tree were removing). Also, due to the
Phytophora root rot issues going on, it doesn't effect the deodar cedars like were seeing with other
conifers. These deodar cedars are a larger species like to Douglas fir.
