Constitution Week
WHEREAS, on September 17, 1787, the Constitution of the United States of
.m ! America was signed by 55 delegates to the Constitutional Convention in
Philadelphia's Independence Hall; and :
, r WHEREAS, September 17, 2019, marks the 232nd anniversary of the drafting I
of the Constitution; and °
x WHEREAS, it is fitting and proper to accord official recognition to this magnificent
.* s document that provides Americans with the freedoms we have today; and {
WHEREAS, on the anniversary of this important document, it is a great time to
learn more about the historical events which led to the framing of the Constitution
in September 1787; and
WHEREAS, Public Law 915 guarantees the issuing of a proclamation each -
year by the President of the United State of America designating September Asn
17 through 23 as Constitution Week. H
NOW THEREFORE BE IT RESOLVED THAT I, Jason B. Snider, Mayor of the
Y` City of Tigard, Oregon, do hereby proclaim the week of September 17-23, 2019 .;.`
