Given it appears that the original plans accounted for the full opening width of 14'-0"for the concrete
panel design then the HSS 6x4x 3/16 appears to be an infill column used for the door jamb attachment for
both the roll up door and man door. The contractor should take care to remove the column with proper
temporary shoring to assess the opening as the column is removed. No cutting of the concrete head is
allowed,or any concrete for that matter.All existing opening steel and reinforcement as shown below
should be confirmed as existing prior to removal of the HSS column.
