11/08/1984 - Minutes CIVIC CENTER COMMITTEE MINUTES NOVEMBER 8, 1994 Meeting called to order: 7:40 P.M. Committee members present were: Valerie Johnson, Chairperson; Craig Hopkins, Ed Duffield, Susan Mueller, Dennis Derby, and Carolyn Eadon. Staff Person: Bob Jean Visitors- Robert Wheeler, Robert Adams, Barbara White, Walt Munhall, Irene Ertell. Architectural, firm representatives: Larry Smith, Norm Dull, and John Weeks; Mary Carter Spies, Lee—Lovlin Interiors Mary Carter Spies discussed their suggested color palette, including suggested wall colors. Proposed scheme is quiet; hoping for accessories to liven it up. They asked to reserve the right at a later date to brighten the colors if we are unable to afford new furnishings for accent. Committee reviews and directs interior staff to continue on the color palette they are developing. It will be presented to City Council November 12, 1984. Norm Dull made a Budget update to the Committee. At this time total project funds available are $1,866,000. Current construction is $1,689,302. After reviewing possible budget adds and deductions, the Committee recommends: I In lieu of closing off the libraries quiet room the architects are directed to increase the window size back up to 4 panes on the south wall. Motion made, seconded and passed unanimously . 2. Motion made, seconded and passed unanimously for architects to increase window size in the city hall south side to 4 x 6. 3. Motion made and seconded to strike the operable windows in city hall in accordance with earlier Committee decisions based on our technical information. Motion passed unanimously. 4. Motion made and seconded that if the architects can align the proposed budget they will put the north elevation glazing back in. Motion passed unanimously . The Committee had no concerns with the revised designs. The book drop will be moved to the north wall. Motion made, seconded and passed unanimously to take this project as presented to the Tigard City Council on November 12, 1984. Motion made to amend the architectural fees based on the updated construction budget, (7 1/2% of difference over 1.5 million) seconded and passed unanimously. City Council meeting will be at the Durham Treatment Plant at 7:30 Monday, November 12, 1984. Next meeting set November 20, 1984 at 7:30, (CE:pm/0649p)
