Dear Luke:
The front garage walls were framed at 10' high with the garage door header up at ceiling height which increased the height
to width ratio of the portal frame. There is an approximate 24"high cripple wall framed down from the header to the top of
the garage door opening. I recommend that you add blocking in alignment with the double plate at the top of the garage
door and then add a horizontal MSTC40 strap going across the shearwall to the double plate,nailing it to the multiple studs
of the shearwall,blocking and plates.
