Subject: Structural observations
I am writing to inform you under the requirements of OSSC 1704.5 that construction of the
structures associated with the Durham AWWTF Phase 5 Expansion (permitted under BUP2018-
00087) has begun,and we have commenced our program of structural observations to monitor the
construction of said facilities.
We are providing a full-time inspector who has been on-site daily since before any sitework began.
This inspector is working under my responsible charge and is reviewing rebar installation,
compaction testing,concrete quality and is ensuring that the work is constructed in general
conformance to the approved construction documents.In addition,I am making visits to the site 2-3
days a week to observe the work.
As required by OSSC 1704.5,we will follow up with a similar letter at the conclusion of the work
where we will outline any known deficiencies which have yet to be corrected at that time.
If I can be of any assistance during construction,please let me know.
