Washington _quS'ar'Rbad We have reviewed your blueprints for the subdivision of the space within Washington Square and have the following reouirements for construction. 1 . Door No. 5 is required to be a twenty-minute-rated fire door assembly (i.e. , lock, latch, hinges and closing device). The door is to be maintainea self- closing or shall be automatic closing by actuation of a spoke detector in accordance with Section 4306 (b). Smoke and draft-control door shall be provided with a gasket so installed as to provide a seal where thl door meets the stop on both sides and across the top. (ref: Sec. 3305 U.B.C. ) 2. Exit door shall be openable from the inside without the use of a key, special knowledge or effort. Manually- operated edge or surface-mounted flush bolts and surface bolts are prohibited. (ref: Sec. '1304 U.R.C. ) 3. Automatic fire sprinkler protection to be maintained throughout and extended to enclose soffit spaces. (ref: Sec. 3802 U.B.C. ) 4. Business name and address shall be provided on the cor- ridor side of Door No. 5. (ref: Sec. 10.208 U.F.C. ) 5.
