Washington Square Road The plans for the remodeling of this tenant space to accommoda�ecththe eproposed new occupant has been examined with refere? ce to currently app re safety regulations. Listed as follows are requirements which must be observed during the course of construction and prior to occupancy of the space in order to fulfill these regulations. 1 . The maximum permissible area which any sprinkler head may cover is 130 square feet. Accordingly, the comment on the drawings that sprinkler heads will be spaced on a grid of 15 x 15 is not acceptable. That is, sprinkler heads may he spaced at 15 feet between heads or 15 feet between branch lines but no sprinkler head may cover more than 130 square feet. Thus, if sprinkler heads are spaced at 15-foot intervals on branch lines, the branch lines must be not more than 9 feet apart. (ref: Sec. 3801 U.B.C. I 2. All blind spaces enclosed in whole or in part by (_ombustible construction must be provided with automatic sprinkler cover- age, exclusive of the underfloor area which will be filled with noncombustible insulation according to the drawings. (ref: Sec. 3801 U.B.C.) 3. The interior finish, i .e. wall and ceiling surfaces, must have a flame-spread rating of not to exceed 200 as measured on the Steiner Tunnel Test Scale referred to as U.B.C. Exclusive of the main entrance fronting on the mall , all doors which serve this tenant space must be openable from the inside at all times for immediate exit without the use of a key, special knowledge or effort. (ref: Sec. 3303 U.B.C. ) 5. A passageway which will physically separate the employees and storage room from the way of exit leafing from the sales area to the -ear exit must be provided. That is, the way of exit is not permitted to pass through a storage room. 6. One set of approved plans bearing the stamps of the Washington County Building Department and this office must be maintained on the project site throughout all phases of construction and must be made available to building and fire inspectors for reference during required co,astruction inspections. (ref: Sec. 303 U.B.C. ) 7. Inspection and approval et construction by this office is required: a) prior to the cover of any framing elements which will support walls, partitions, ceilings, etc. b) upon completion of all remodaling work and prior to the opening of this tenant space for business. (ref: Sec. 305 U.B.C. ) 8. Prior to the opening of this tenant space for business, a Certificate of Occupancy must be obtained from the Washington County Building Department. (ref: Sec. 307 U.B.C. ) Subject to the observance of the foregoing stipulations, the remodeling work for the space under discussion may proceed following the issuance of a building permit insofar as this office is concerned. Listed as follows are requirements which must be observed during the course of construction and fin' which we found no specific provisions in the submitted drawings. 1 . In all wood framed walls and partitions and in furred spaces formed by wood furring strips, firestopping is required at ceiling lines.
