We are listing as follows certain requirements which must be observed during the course of construction in order to fulfill the requirements of these regulations. 1 . If wood framing is employed, as contrasted with steel framing, then firestopping must be provided in all walls and partitions at floor and ceiling lines (this includes firred walls) and at maximum horizontal in- tervals of 10 feet, in the case of double stud walls. Penetrations made in this prescribed firestopping to accommodate wiring, plumbing, duct work and similar utility runs must be packed, following the installation of said utility runs, in a manner which will effectively maintain the integrity of the firestopping and cut off all concealed draft openings which could afford a pas- sage for flame. Please note that. under the provisions of the Section cited herein, firestopping is not required in steel framing.
