on the back of this sheet are the items we find to be in violation of, or—Tor whicF we find
no provisions for the requirements of tne 1982 Edition of the State Uniform Ruilding Code.

1 . Exit doors serving an occupancy loam of '.0 or more shall :
a. Swing in the d;rec:tion of exit travel ;
b. Be equipped with panic hardware;
c. Hove exit Signs.
Exception: Main exterior doors which obviously and clearly are identifiable as
exits need not be signed when approved by the building official . See Section 3304,
3314, 3319J, S.d.C.
2. There shall be floor or landing un each side of a door. The flour or landing
shall be nut more than 1/2 inch lower than the threshold of the doorway. When
doors open over landings, the landing shall have a length of not less than 5 feet.
Reference Section 3304, S.B.C.
3. Glastused in doors or in glazing located within 12 inches of the nearest vertical
edge of a door or in areas subject to human impact, :hall be tempered or of an
approved safety glazing mater;al . Reference Section 5406, S.B.C.
4. Thermal insulation shall not be installed wittin 3 inches of a recessed light
fixture enclosure, or ballast and snail not be so installed above the fixture
as to entrap heat and prevent the free circulation of air unless the fixture
is otherwise approved for the purpose.
a) Thermal insulation shall net be installed within 3 inches of any metal
chimney or gas vent.
A permanent sleeve of fine wire mesh screen, sheeet metal or other non-
combustible material , shall be installed to maintain the required clearances.

b) Thermal insulation, shall not be installed in a manner that would obstruct
openings required for attic ventilation.
5. Complete mechanical system plans for the HVAC equipment and duct work must be
submitted and approved by this office prior to such installation. Reference
.iection 302, S.M.C.
6. All insulation materials including facings, such as vapor barriers or breather
papers, installed within floor-ceiling assumblies, roof-ceiling assemblies,
wall;, crawl spaces, or attics shall have a flame-spread rating not to exceed
25 and a smoke density not to exceed 450 when tested in accordance with U.P.C.
Standard No. 42-1.
When such materials are installed in concealed spaces of Types III, IV, and V
construction, the flame-spread and smoke-developed limitations do not apply
to facings, provided that the facing is installed in substantial contact with
the unexposed surface of the floor-ceilino, or wall finish. Reference Section
1713, S.B.C.
7. In lieu of submitting an engineers design, suspended ceilings and fixtures shall
be supported as specified in U.B.C. Standard 47-18 and shall be laterally braced
as shown on the attacvd cross section. Additional information of standard
requirements is available if needed upon request.
R. Approval from the linif'ed Sewerage Agency is required prior to the issuance of
the building permit.
