The corrections were to remove the manually-operated flush bolts from the entry door. • As T have discussed before with your manager, doors shall be openable from the inside without the use of a key, special knowledge or effort. Manually-operated edge or surface-mounted flush bolts are prohibited. (ref: Sec.3304 U.B.C. ) We must require that the edge bolts be removed from this door before we can issue a Certificate of Occupancy for this business. Failure to remove the edge bolts creates a distinct hazard to life and we will take such legal action as may be necessary to correct this hazard. Standard No. 42-1. 1 (ref: Sec. 1713 U.B.C. ) 1. in combustible construction firestopping and draftstopping shall be installed to cut off all concealed openings both horizontal and vertical and form an effective barrier against fire. All openings made for vents, ducts, electrical plumbing or other utilities which afford a passage for fire shall he sealed with noncombustible materials. (ref: Sec. 2516 U.B.C.) 8. Addresses shall be provided in such a position as to be plainly visible and legible from the street or road fronting the property. (ref: Sec. 513 U.B.C.) i 9. Inspections are required after all framing, bracing, fireblocking; all electrical plumbing and other utilities have been installed; prior to the installation of ypsum wallboard sheeting; the construction is complete prior to occupancy.
