The staff person present was Margaret Barnes. Chairperson David Chapman asked the Committee to review the meeting notes from the March 12 committee meeting. Following a motion by Sleeger and a second by Patton the Committee approved the notes. Distributed to the Committee was a preliminary estimate of site costs. BML Architects developed these estimates. Also distributed to the Committee for their review was a draft outline of the PowerPoint presentation scheduled to be presented at Council on April 17. Committee member Lonn Hoklin was unable to attend the meeting and had sent a copy of his presentation for the April 17 meeting, this was also distributed to the Committee. Councilor Patton spoke with the Committee about the importance of presenting a variety of options to Council at the April 17 meeting. The Committee will be presenting preliminary information about three representative sites. She shared with the Committee that Council would probably give further direction to the Committee after this meeting. The Committee reviewed the handout of the PowerPoint presentation and after some discussion agreed to make several changes to the presentation. An updated copy of the presentation will be distributed to the Committee at the April 9 meeting. It was recommended to send the new Council member Craig Dirksen a copy of the "Needs Analysis" report. There was also a discussion concerning the future use of the current library by the City after a new library is built. Councilor Patton suggested to the Committee that at this point the Committee might want to stay focused on its current task and not become too involved in the conversation concerning the future use of the existing library. The Committee also had a discussion about the Beaverton Library. The Committee would like to know the square footage breakdown of the different areas of the building. Brian and Margaret will work on providing this information to the Committee. The Committee will meet again on Monday, April 9 at 6:30 p.m. The Committee tentatively scheduled a meeting for Thursday, May 24 at 6:30 p.m. The meeting adjourned at 8:15 p.m. Tigard Public Library Owner costs Real Estate/Acquisition (assessed value) $ 3,800,000 Direct Construction Costs Sitework $ 550,000 Off Site Improvements $ 66,000 Demolition $ 396,000 General Construction (47,000sf x$125/sf) $ 5,875,000 General conditions $ 1,033,050 GC Fee @ 5% $ 396,003 Const.
