Enclosures 13125 SW Hall Blvd., Tigard, OR 97223 (503)639-4171 TDD (503)684-2772 New Tigard Library Construction Committee Meeting Notes Thursday, May 24, 2001 The meeting convened at 6:30 p.m. The Committee members present were: David Chapman, George Burgess, Councilor Joyce Patton, Sue Carver, Kathy Sleeger and Elaine Heras. Staff present were Bill Monahan, Gus Duenas and Margaret Barnes. Chairperson David Chapman asked the Committee to review the meeting notes from the April 9 Committee meeting. After the notes were amended to include the corrections noted by Councilor Patton, a motion was made by Burgess and a second by Patton. The Committee approved the notes as amended. There was a brief discussion of the "Building Program Report." After the discussion a motion was made by Sleeger and a second by Patton to accept the report. The Committee approved the report. City Manager Bill Monahan reviewed with the Committee additional information about the three representative sites. He also updated the Committee regarding the preliminary contact City staff has had with the property owners of each of the sites. The Committee had additional discussion about representative sites B, D and E. At the end of the discussion, given some of the issues concerning Site B, the Committee agreed by consensus, to drop Site B from further consideration at this time. The Committee discussed what the next steps are for the Committee in terms of public education and the development of "fact sheets" for the public. It was suggested by Councilor Patton and the City Manager that the Committee have information distributed at the 4th of July event. Staff is developing an informational brochure to distribute at the 'Balloon Festival." This same brochure will be able to be used at the "Old Time 4th of July" event. The Committee will meet again on Monday, June 11 at 6:30 p.m. The Committee is scheduled to meet with the City Council at a workshop session of Council on Tuesday, June 19 at 7:30 p.m. The meeting adjourned at 8:30 p.m.
