Construction is expected to begin March 18 with an anticipated completion date of July 15. Traffic will be reduced to one lane intermittently, 8:30 a.m.-4 p.m. weekdays. See htWs://www.wc-roads.com/ for more information. Beef Bend east of Roy Rogers Road Construction is on-going on the sewer line being installed on Beef Bend Road. Beef Bend Road has been reopened but will have flagged lane closures during the day while the crews clean up. They will return in late Spring/early Summer to repave the road. OR 99W Sidewalk Project: Raya4 RoyalParkway to Durham Road ODOT,in partnership with King City,plans to construct new sidewalk on OR 99W (Pacific Highway) and on Royalty Parkway. Work has begun and is expected to continue through May. During construction,road users should expect daytime and nighttime work. There will be single-lane and shoulder closures on OR 99\X'and on Royalty Parkway as well as short-term sidewalk closures, �,ti-ith .kl).k-approti-ed pedestrian detours. The project is replacing aging sewer interceptor pipes that help control water flow with larger,more resilient pipes to improve wastewater capacity.Truck traffic, trail closures and detours at the park are planned through April 2019. Work began near the wastewater plant and progresses westward. More info is on the CWS website: htr.l2://www.cleanwaterservices.or about-us ro ects/west-durham-basin-im rovement-programi Fanno Creek Trail—Woodard Park to Tiedeman Ave The new bridge and trail connecting the Fanno Creek Trail straight from Woodard Park across the creek to the existing crosswalk on Tiedeman Avenue is now open. This project completed a missing link of the Fanno Creek Greenway Trail,provided an ADA accessible route where it did not exist before,increased trail safety by lining the trail up with a safe crosswalk, and provided a very clear definition of the regional trail route at Tiedeman Avenue. Most of the project was paid for with a generous $800,000 grant from Metro. Upcoming projects in this location include safety changes at the crosswalk, adding refuge islands and more visible lighting. As soon as a long enough stretch of rain free weather happens, a new mural will also be painted on the retaining wall and bridge foundation to add character to the trail and to help discourage graffiti. Dirksen Nature Park Construction is in the final stages on a nature play area in Dirksen Nature Park south of Tigard Street. The Fanno Creek Trail and the Nature Park are open. The restroom facility is open! Portions of the trail and park may have short-term closures as construction wraps up. River Terrace Area Construction • River Terrace subdivisions are under construction particularly on the east side of Roy Rogers Rd south of Scholls Ferry Rd. Utility work (with traffic delays) is in progress in 150th Ave. • Bull Mountain Road Widening and Traffic Signal Construction: Bull Mountain Road (from 164th to Roy Rogers Rd) is open with a new roundabout at the future River Terrace Blvd, and a traffic signal at Bull Mountain and Roy Rogers Road. Hwy 217 Auxiliary Lanes The Oregon Department of Transportation (ODOT) is designing a project to add an auxiliary third lane on Hwy 217 southbound from Beaverton-Hillsdale Hwy to Hwy 99W, and Hwy 217 northbound from Hwy 99W to Scholls Ferry Rd. Daytime delays likely. 76" and 79"Avenues south of Bonita Road A developer is constructing the Elderberry Ridge subdivision on the south end of 76'Ave east of 79"Ave south of Bonita Road. The contractor is waiting for a break in weather to complete the road work. Some traffic impacts expected on 79th Ave. Tiedeman Avenue and Tigard Street A developer is building a new subdivision on Tigard Street east of Tiedeman Avenue. The contractor is installing storm line in Tigard Street between Tiedeman and Katherine streets. Expect delays on Tigard Street. 68" Parkway south of HmYy 99W A developer is building a new self-storage facility on the west side of 68'Parkway south of Highway 99W. Sidewalk improvements along 681h Parkway will be beginning soon. Some delays possible. 150th Ave south of Hawk Ridge Drive A developer is building a 180-lot subdivision on 150`''Ave south of Hawk Ridge Drive. Grading is substantially complete, started pipe works,now stopped,but promised to resume work in January of 2019. No impacts to traffic expected. 121st Ave south of Springwood Drive A developer is building a 17-lot subdivision on 121'`Ave south of Springwood Drive. Work is nearing completion. Pavement work to repair damaged areas will affect traffic on 121st Ave and Springwood Dr.,but work has been postponed until the weather is appropriate for paving. 72nd Avenue between Clinton St and Baylor St A developer is building a new 37-unit apartment building on the east side of 72"d Ave between Clinton St and Baylor St. The contractor has finished installing sanitary sewer service on 72nd between Clinton and Baylor. Contractors are doing foundation work for main building and elevator shaft. Light traffic impacts possible on 72nd Ave. 98th Ave between Greenburg Rd and Scott Ct A developer is building a subdivision on 98`x'Avenue between Greenburg Rd and Scott Ct. The contractor will be installing a waterline along 98`h Avenue. Some traffic impacts are expected on 98`h Ave. Hunziker Road—Fields Apartments A developer is building apartments on Hunziker Rd and improvements include widening Hunziker Rd. School Construction Construction continues on Templeton Elementary School, and on the new Durham Center education services building near Durham Elementary School. Item# ✓`� Newsletter: Pu b lic s Iny A 3/7/19 >>Community Members Share Thoughts for SW 72nd Avenue Transportation Study 72nd Avenue plays a vital role in the city's vision to improve the Tigard Triangle.A strategic plan for the area envisions a vibrant core with people living and working within walking distance to small shops, restaurants and parks.To help make the vision a reality,city staff is working with the community to develop a strategy for growth and investments that support multiple types of travel. Using an online survey in the month of February, project manager Tegan Enloe gathered community input on the future of the street. In total, 218 people responded to the survey. Many reported visiting the Tigard Triangle daily(36.2%) or a few times per week (37.2%).The most common reasons were to visit a business in the area (153 people) or traveling through the corridor to other places(156 people). When asked what they'd most like to see on 72nd Avenue in the future, "more places to live"was the most common response,followed by"more trees, plants and outdoor features." The concern originated from a social media post and rumors spread quickly about threats of violence to Tigard High school. Tigard Police and Tigard High School took the concerns seriously. Officers responded and have fully investigated the social media post that prompted the concern.After interviewing the former student and his parents,Tigard Police concluded that no threat of harm to Tigard High School exists. Police say Tigard High School safe after social media 'threats' The Times Friday, March 01,2019 Investigation into online comments fueled by rumors led to determination that no threat existed. PMG FILE PHOTO-Tigard police investigated possible threats Friday, March 1, at Tigard High School. Officers determined that the TRW L � social media posts were not meant as threats to the school. Tigard police said Friday that there wasn't a threat of violence in social media posts by a former Tigard High School student. Tigard police and school resource officers investigated the posts early March 1, and determined that the former student didn't mean to threaten the school. "After contacting the former student and his parents,we have concluded that no threat of harm to Tigard High School exists,"police said in a Friday morning statement. Tigard-Tualatin School District officials also posted a statement on Facebook saying the district did not believe there was a credible threat to the school. "We are working closely with Tigard police to fully investigate and have additional officers in our school today,"the district posted on its Facebook page. An investigation began after rumors of possible violence began spreading at the school because of the social media posts. Tigard police offered few details about the posts or the possible threats. Police said the department received "a couple of calls" from parents worried about the situation.
