06/13/1978 - Minutes MINUTES TIGARD LI-3, RARY BOARD June 13, 1978 Call to order The regular meeting of the Tigard Library Board &- Roll Call was called to order by chairman protem Don Jacobs at 7 :45 P.M. Excused: Yvonne Burgess , Jeri Cundiff. New Board Member, George Vatternick, was introduced. Reports : Minutes of the precious meeting were approved . Old Business : Nancie Stimler reported that she will investigate the matter of obtaining a reveiw copy of the Library Trustee Newsletter. The Librarian distributed copies of the Capital Needs of Libraries in Washington County to Provide Public Library Service in 2000 A.D. (hereinafter referred to as the Stryker Report) . Copies of the serial levy election tabulations were also distributed. New Business: It was announced that Sunday hours have been suspended for the summer. Use of the Library May 14 and 21 did not warrant continuation. Depending on staff availability, Sunday hours may be reinstituted in the fall . The Librarian informed the Board that the City Administrator would be recommending a x,'4000 cut in the book budget for 197879 as part of the city ' s effort to balance the budget . It was decided that the Library could still offer its present level of service, but it would be requested that the Librarian make the cut in various line items at her discretion. There was discussion on the Stryker Report . Don Jacobs,whose term ended with this meeting, was recognized by the Board and the Librarian for his long and concerned service as a Board Member.
