05/11/1976 - Minutes LIBRARY CARD MEETING" MAY 11,1976 1:30
The meeting was called to order. Those present were "eri, Don
Yvonne, "ary and Jean. And Anne. Minutes were /read and
approved.
Under CLD BU3INES Mary was asking about her tern: of office.
It is not up yet but Yvonnes and "eris are. New names were
rejuested but no new names could be suggested. Jeri will write
a letter recommending the re-appointment of Yvonne and. Ueri.
The new room is beim; started. 'there will be a storeroom
and we will get new shelves.
The Libr=ary measure sounds hopeful and board members will hand
out literature.
There was a good turnout at the neer annesbourne 'ibrary to
see Sovernor Straub.
Clackamus County has cut thier county library budget by 1200 ,000.
and tney now are forced into a special levy.
The State Aid to libraries Bill will be presented in 1978. 'he
revenue will be taken out of state income tax.
Under NEE K..alWS a Union LiK of Reference '''aterials is now
available in lash Co discribing all the references in the
libraries.
The "State Library has a new librarian whose main interest is
growth and cooperation between systems.
CETA has been increased to cover until Dec 31st.
The Friends of the Library received a ; 250. grant for diCentennia.l.
Toney will be used for an historical corner, to repair a large
display case, and paint an.i shelves.
The ' ine tasing 'art* was a sucess-. around 1100. profit.
Budget meetinj are coming up with libr9r; bullet in foreground.
There will be a 'No :smoking' rule in effect in the children's and
non-fiction room from[now on.
