In regards to the above referenced project, it is acceptable to cut the existing concrete
stem wall, approximately 10"-12",to allow the installation of a new door along the back
wall. Also, regarding a repaired joist near the staircase, add a new full length joist to the
existing (or in the general vicinity, plus/minus a few inches) at this location.
