Background The Informatics Applications Group (tom) has developed a wellness-based resilience training program, including a half-day training (4-6 hours) and companion mobile app, for law enforcement and other first responder communities. It is tiag's intent to evaluate the usability and efficacy of the wellness training program with TPD law enforcement officers. It is our intent that tiag's mResilience program will serve as an opportunity to provide a resilience training opportunity to TPD. Pilot Study Description The purpose of the partnership is to evaluate tiag's mResilience program and companion mobile application in a pilot study with around 20 or more TPD sworn police officers on active patrol (recruitment numbers may vary depending on availability and interest). Officers will attend the half-day training and learn ways to implement resilience skills. They will practice using the app during the training and continue using the app for the subsequent 13 weeks as part of the study. Participants will complete periodic surveys giving feedback on the training and app, as well as their current wellness status. The goal is to determine how the tiag mResilience training and mobile application fairs with police officers, ways to improve the program and mobile app, and determine if resilience and related skills were gained as a result of these program offerings.
