To whom it may concern,
The building located at 141361 SW Pacific Highway meets the Oregon Structural Specialty
Code (OSSC) section 308.6.1 as an Educational (E) occupancy.
OSSC Section 308.6.1: Classification as group E. A child care facility that provides care
for more than five but no more than 100 children 2 1/2 years or less of age, where the rooms
in which the children are cared for are located on the level of exit discharge serving such
rooms and each of these child care rooms has an exit door directly to the exterior, shall be
classified as a group E.
The OSSC does not distinguish between children under the age of 12 months or twelve
weeks. The code considers all children under the age of 2 1/2 to potentially require assistance
in exiting the building thus the level of exit discharge requirements for a group E occupancy.
Short of meeting the group E requirements, the occupancy class would be I-4 and the
minimum code requirements for such occupancy would be required.
