Dear Mr. Satran
During the course of construction of the deck and deck cover, it was requested that one of
the upper deck support posts be shifted about 12 inches in order to clear an existing
footing. This meant that the roof post would not align with the deck post below as noted
in the original calculations.
A review was done for the new loading and the specified 6 x 10 PT Hem-Fir#1 beam is
still adequate for the loading. It is acceptable to shift the deck post and footing.
