The excavation backfill had approximately a 2 foot lift placed and compacted with an 815 roller. Density testing and visual observations indicated adequate moisture content and compaction. Soil drying operations for engineered fill at Lots 35-40 are ongoing. The strippings stockpile is currently located at Lots 35 and 36, and no drying operations are being conducted here yet. A second lift of fill was placed at the excavation backfill. Density testing and a proof roll with a water truck indicated adequate compaction of the backfill. A proof roll was also conducted on the lower fill lots (37-40). Approximately one foot of engineered fill soil was placed at Lots 37-38, and Lots 39-40 were at subgrade elevation. The subgrade at Lots 37-40 was ripped, dried, and re-compacted prior to placing engineered fill. The proof roll indicated moderate deflections at approximately Lots 39-40, and additional drying activities were recommended for this area. Only slight deflections were observed at Lots 37-38 and this area was approved for additional engineered fill. Based on my observations, engineered fill activities are proceeding in accordance with project specifications.
