OL -- 0 o d-7 I. re: Albee Address: \52)1-10 f iNam,ess 15340 SW SW Thanes lane Suite#: Tigard, OR 97224 nA By: lin Datet VellB You designed a new 10'x 18'deck to be erected beside an existing deck.Your drawings— copies attached—are acceptable with the following notes and adjustments. My notes show the basis for the adjusted dimensions. 1.On pages 2 and 3 change the footing size to 18"x 18"x 16"deep.My attached notes show that a slightly larger size is required to support the load. Pour concrete against undisturbed soil to help prevent uplift. The outer footings for the three-post configuration can be 16" square. 2.The beam can be supported on three footings/posts(as shown)or on two posts spaced 12' apart. A three-post beam should be 4x8 #2DF and a two-post beam should be either 6x8 #1DF or 6x10#2DF. 3. Spacing of the LedgerLok screws on the house ledger can be increased to 16" 4.On page 2 the 2x6 diagonal braces under the joists are acceptable lateral stiffening. Show them terminating at the beam and not crossing,or use a single long corner-to-corner brace. -end of file v/vcbed.fr 1'7 c, 4;# -9 0.7(417 713,e157 d7 / Ag/ J `°7 „„L 11 / c 4o?
