Crista,
As we discussed on Thursday last week a minimum 1" air gap is required to meet minimum code for ventilation with the
R-30 required vault insulation. The engineered plan that you submitted only calls for 2x10. How are you planning to
meet the minimum insulation requirements per Table N1101.1? Spray foam is the only option that would not require
the minimum air gap but that tends to be costly, however, no venting would be required in that case. Please advise as
how you wish to proceed. If you decide to sister 2x12 to the 2x10's to allow for the air gap I just need something from
you stating what you are doing. Emailing me is sufficient for communication.

As discussed, it is structurally acceptable to sister 2X12 DF/L#2 next to the 2X10 roof rafters or
replace the 2X10 rafters with 2X12 DF/L#2.
