RE: Sheathing Replacement and Nailing

It has come to the attention of Madden and Baughman Engineering that the existing sheathing at
the Bull Mountain Heights job site in Tiagrd, OR will be replaced in several places do to weathering
and damage of the existing sheathing.
In locations where the existing sheathing is plywood or OSB, 1/2" APA rated plywood or OSB
sheathing is to be used as the replacement material, edge nailed at 6"on center and field nailed at
12"on center with 8d common nails.
One half inch DensGlass sheathing or 1/2" gypsum board is to be used to replace the existing
gypsum sheathing at exterior walls where necessary. Fastening is to be 7" on center edge nailing
and 12"on center field nailing with 5d common nails.
Please see the attached drawings from the original construction of the structures at Bull Mountain
Heights. Expected sheathing materials and their original nailing is highlighted in these drawings as
evidence that the existing condition is not being changed by the sheathing replacement and repair.
