MARK STEWART- DESIGNER FROM: TROY D. LYVER, PE/SE " <r'" # s . SUBJECT: GREENSWARD LOT#15—SINGLE FAMILY HOME TIGARD, OREGON 97224 LEAD PROJECT#18-177 t EGO N #11111 DATE: JULY 24, 2018 ``-7..v9.a' °YD.LY'J- " CC: GARY HENIN —H&H HOMES AND FILE RENEWAL:DEC.31,20 1 The purpose of the memo is to address questions raised by the contractor and/or inspector during the construction of the residence listed above. Question 1: The shear wall adjacent to the stairs is to be a double-sided shear wall, type F. The interior sheathing was not installed before the stairs were installed. What is the solution? ANSWER 1: The plywood may break at the location of the landing. 2x flat blocking shall be installed above and below the location of the stair landing ledger. The plywood shall be nailed off to the blocking per the nailing schedule. The blocking shall be nailed through to the lower blocking with 16d at 3" on center across the full length of the wall. And, while the plan shows the shear wall hatching on the garage wing wall side, the wall is not required to be sheathed on this side. The wall is just to be sheathed on the interior for the length of the landing wall. I trust the information provided is adequate for review and acceptance.
