Upon arrival, contractor(Frank Excavation) had excavated Lot 64 to final subgrade elevation and had covered with 2
to 3 inches of compacted crushed gravel (see site plan). According to the contractor, the crushed gravel was 3/4-inch-
minus grade sourced from Tigard Sand and Gravel that had been compacted with a small diesel-plate compactor.
The crushed gravel appeared dense and well-keyed.
A Yz-inch diameter steel foundation probe was used to penetrate the crushed gravel and evaluate the underlying
subgrade. Based on observations of the excavation sidewalls, the subgrade appears to be brown silt with trace
sand. Probing indicated that the subgrade was medium dense to dense in consistency.
Based on observations, probing, and discussions with Frank Excavation, the subgrade areas observed today and
indicated on the attached site plan have been prepared in general accordance with GeoDesign geotechnical
recommendations.
