J , Polygon Northwest Company(via email only) GDI Project: s Polygon-129-03 RE: Walls Above Lots 94 and 160 River Terrace East Tigard, Oregon GeoDesign, Inc. is pleased to submit this memorandum summarizing information for the retaining walls that support higher grades in close proximity to the planned residences above Lots 94 and 160 at the River Terrace East residential development located in Tigard, Oregon. Lot 94 is located at 16749 SW Birdsong Street and Lot 160 is located at 16544 SW Autumnvale Lane. We provided a design for the walls above the lots in our memorandum' dated October 17, 2016. The planned residences are at the base of the walls and therefore do not induce surcharge loads on the walls. Field reports from our geotechnical construction observation for walls 5 and 6, which are at the edge of Lot 160, are included in Attachment A; field reports from our geotechnical construction observation for walls 16 and 17, which are at the edge of Lot 94, are included in Attachment B. To the extent observed and tested, the walls were constructed in general accordance with our design recommendations. For the residences on Lots 94 and 160, the planned shallow foundations in close proximity to the base of the adjacent walls are acceptable from a geotechnical perspective. ♦ ♦ ♦ We appreciate the opportunity to be of continued service to you.
