Upon arrival, contractor(Frank Excavation) had excavated Lot 84 to final subgrade elevation and had covered with 2
to 3 inches of compacted crushed gravel (see site plan). According to the contractor, the crushed gravel was a-inch-
minus grade sourced from Tigard Sand and Gravel that had been compacted with a small diesel-plate compactor.
The crushed gravel appeared dense and well-keyed.
I used a%-inch diameter steel foundation probe to probe through the crushed gravel and evaluate the underlying
subgrade. Based on observations of the excavation sidewalls, the subgrade appears to be brown silt with trace
sand. Based on probing, the subgrade appears to range in consistency from medium stiff to stiff.
Based on our observations, the subgrade areas where observed today and indicated on the attached site plan have
been prepared in general accordance with GeoDesign geotechnical recommendations.
