Purpose:. Observe base rock for SOG at Building C

Upon arrival, Sam (Polygon)directed me to Building C where base rock for slab on grade was prepared for
observation (see attached site plan). Contractor indicated they had placed an approx. 18-in rock section of 3/"-0
granular structural fill sourced from Baker Rock. Compaction was completed in approx. 12-in lifts via large diesel
plate. At time of site visit, prepared base rock was at approx. planned grade. I observed the base rock to be well-
keyed and firm under foot.
I used a Troxler 3430 Nuclear Density Gauge to record dry density and moisture transmissions. 95%of lab produced
(D1557)optimum dry density of 127.2pcf at 12.6%moisture is recommended. Area of prepared base rock observed
today met recommended compaction. See table below for details.
