She plans to distribute the updated draft at the August meeting. Robin McFall provided information on the Tigard Recreation Association. Skateboard Park Mayor Griffith and others met with Tom Brian about the possibility of using a portion of the CWS property on Hall and Durham for a skateboard park. CWS is reluctant because they may need the property for expansion in the future. The group will meet again to see if there's a way to use the property for a skateboard park in the interim. A neighborhood meeting still needs to be held regarding the Tigard Street site. Ken asked about the property behind the armory as a potential site. Susan said the school district had contacted the federal government about that site for another use and been told they weren't sure what they might use the property for. The Mayor will talk to Rich Carlson about contacting the armory regarding the potential use of the property for a skateboard park. Middle School/After-School Program Susan reported that probably$49,000 of a$55,000 grant would be available to fund the after- school program. Providing funds for the bus transportation will be a challenge. Pam and Ed will contact service clubs and churches to try to secure funds for snacks and/or supplies for the program beginning this fall. Assets Survey Susan reported that she has been working with Becky Read of Washington County to get a booklet written, printed, and distributed to each middle and high school family. The group then discussed a number of programs already in place to connect youth with the community: lunch buddy, HTAG,Juvenile Court, Youth Mentor, DARE Camp. After the assets survey has been distributed, Susan will work with the schools to identify youth that might be interested in serving on the Youth Forum.
