AN ORDINANCE AMENDING TIGARD MUNICIPAL CODE CHAPTER 6.02 TO REMOVE
SPECIFIC REQUIREMENTS ON KEEPING LIVESTOCK AND POULTRY
WHEREAS,Tigard Municipal Code 6.02.070 currently prohibits the keeping of poultry or livestock unless kept
in a fenced run at least 100 feet from any adjacent residences;and
WHEREAS, Tigard City Council previously gave direction to staff to pursue elimination of this buffer
requirement;and
WHEREAS, the City's existing nuisance code adequately protects against offensive odors, unsanitary or
offensive conditions, and excessive noise potentially caused by livestock or poultry, ensuring Tigard residents
are not left without recourse by the proposed code amendment.
NOW,THEREFORE,THE CITY OF TIGARD ORDAINS AS FOLLOWS:
SECTION 1: Section 6.02.070 of the Tigard Municipal Code is hereby repealed (deleted text shown in

SECTION 3: This ordinance shall be effective 30 days after its passage by the council, signature by the
mayor,and posting by the city recorder.
