May 10, 1990
MINUTES
Call to Order: 7:00 p.m. , Chairman Amo DeBernardis presiding.
Roll Call: Susan Grossen, Carl Kostol, Vince Matarrese, Linda
Monahan, Marla Resnick, Leslie Wismer
Guests: Yvonne Burgess, Susan Mueller
Staff: Irene Ertell
Reports: Minutes for April 12, 1990 meeting were approved
as written.
Monthly Report was distributed by Library
Director.
Friends of the Library report was given by Susan
Mueller. The Friends are planning a booth at
Cruisin' Tigard where they will sell items to
raise funds.
Cooperative Library Advisory Committee (CLAB)
report was given by Yvonne Burgess. The Banks
rental issue will go to arbitration. CLAB has
requested that member libraries submit any library
legislative issues which might be appropriate as
a part of the Washington County legislative
agenda. The Library Director will poll members
prior to the June 12 CLAB meeting.
Recognition Board: Susan Grossen reported that the names of donors
and volunteers are being assembled according to
criteria approved by the board.
Collection Development Policy: Library Director presented a
revision of the section, Policy Implementation.
Motion: Vince Matarrese moved that the Collection
Development Policy with revised implementation
section be approved, seconded by Linda Monahan,
passed unanimously.
Library Branch Service Proposal: Library Director reported on
information gathered so far in anticipation of
proposing a Tigard Library service satellite at
Washington Square. Board members indicated their
support for the concept.
