Prior to the Board's regular meeting, they will meet with City
Council at 6: 30 p.m. to discuss library issues.
Following this meeting, the Library Board will hold their regular
meeting in Irene's office.

MINUTES
Call to Order: 7:00 p.m. , Chairman Amo DeBernardis presiding.
Roll Call: Susan Grossen, Carl Kostol, Linda Monahan, Leslie Wismer
Excused: Vince Matarrese, Marla Resnick
Guest: Yvonne Burgess
Staff: Irene Ertell
Reports: Minutes for October 9, 1990 were approved as written.
Monthly report for October was presented by Library
Director. Discussion centered on continued circulation
increase.
Friends of the Library report was presented by Yvonne
Burgess. The annual solicitation letter is getting a
good response. The group approved the expenditure of
$600.00 for two baby changing tables in the public
bathrooms. The group is selling 1991 Entertainment Books
as a fundraiser.
Cooperative Library Advisory Board (CLAB) report was
presented by Yvonne Burgess. Yvonne Burgess has been
reappointed to the CLAB as Tigard's representative and
Councilor Carolyn Eadon was appointed as alternate.
Boards/Committees and City Council Meeting: DeBernardis reported
on a meeting of all city board and committee chairpersons
that he had attended. He observed that the City seems
to be receiving a lot of good input from citizens.
Policy Manual Review: The board decided to review the Tigard
Public Library Policy Manual. Carl Kostol and Linda
Monahan will work on a committee with staff members and
make recommendations to the board. DeBernardis asked
that the committee review the City Resolution outlining
the duties of the board.
Election Follow-up: Board members discussed possible impact of the
Tax Limitation Measure 5 and the passage of the City's
new tax base. The consensus was that the City is in a
good position and should be able to continue the same
level of service.

Election of Board Chairman and vice Chairman: Linda Monahan
nominated Amo DeBernardis to serve as Board Chairperson
for current 1990-91 year. Motion was seconded and
approved by all board members present. Susan Grossen
nominated Linda Monahan to serve as vice-chairperson for
current 1990-91 year. Motion was seconded and approved
by all board members present.
December Council Workshop: The board agreed to reschedule the
December meeting to Monday the 10th following a joint
meeting with City Council scheduled at 6: 30 p.m.
