Sistered Floor joists at back porch
To Whom It May Concern:
We have reviewed the question raised in the framing inspection for this property today 11/1/2017.
The vertical loading for this house was done by our office.This includes Beams,floor joists and foundation
plan and footings.
There are two acceptable methods to attach the sintered joists at this area.One would be a min.of 3-16d
nails at 16"OC even spaced vertically.The second option would be to install V2"thru bolts in a diagonal
pattern at 16"OC,keeping a minimum of 2"from the top and bottom of the joists.I think at this point in
construction it would be most plausible to ensure that the nailing pattern outlined above is used at a
minimum.
