December 15, 1981
1. Chairman J. A. Paterson opened meeting.
2. Chairman Paterson discussed how Urban Renewal Plans are doing in other -
cities, particularly those cities where the Urban Renewal Agency and Plan
will be voted on by the citizens.
3. Ralph Appleman of NPO #1 presented a plan for future development in the
downtown area.
4. Chairman J. A. Paterson discussed the outcome of the City Council on the
previous evening (December 14, 1981), stressing the fact that two more
votes may be needed to pass the Urban Renewal Plan.
5. The consultant reviewed the proposed comprehensive plan amendments for the
Downtown Revitalization Area and Downtown Planning Recommendations. The
consultant stressed that these were proposals only and the the Urban Renewal
Agency would be responsible for initiating any comprehensive plan
revisions or specific plans for changes in the downtown area.
6. A discussion followed on the possibility of joint tracking the railroad
through Tigard. The possibility of a Tri-Met transfer station in the down—
town area was also discussed.
7. The meeting was adjourned. The next meeting is scheduled for January 1
