NPO # 3 REGULAR MEETING
July 9, 1984 — 7:30 P.M.
FOWLER JUNIOR HIGH SCHOOL — FRENCH ROOM
1. Call to Order at 7:45 P.M.
2. Roll Call: Present were Bledsoe, Mortensen, Ramdsdell., and Ehr.
3 . No one had any objections to the minutes of the previous meeting, May 14,
1984.
4. In review of the Tigard West project, it seemed that the only change in
the application since our March 26, meeting was the dedication of the
strip of land along Watkins to the City . It was the consensus of all NPO
members present that we concur with the staff report, and that this
revised proposal. does not meet the objections of the neighbors in the
March 26th meeting as outline in our March 29th letter to the Planning
Commission. The NPO members were especially concerned about the
encroachment of commercial activity into an established residential
neighborhood.
5. Other projects in or of concern to NPO # 3 were discussed, especially the
Park Street Square and the 135th Ave. L.I.D.

Subject: Stop signs at S.W. Park and S.W. Watkins
At one of our recent meetings, NPO #3 unanimously approved the
recommendation that. two additional stop signs be placed at the
intersection of Park and Watkins, so that this will be a 4-way stop.
There have been many accidents at this intersection of two minor
collector streets. 14r. Meyer who lives at the intersection states
that there have been over six accidents this year. Apparently several
peoplle travelling on Watkins appear to think there is also a stop on
Park, and they pull out into traffic when they really shouldn' t. We
recommend making this intersection into a 4-way stop.
