Minutes of Meeting February 9, 1987
The meeting began at 10 AM on Monday, February 9, 1987. Present were
Wayne Lowry, Randy Clarno, Sherrie Burbank, and Alice Carrick. Also present
were Jeff Ohlson and Bonnie Spence of IPM.
The following items were discussed:
1. We updated the time line on the committee' s workplan to reflect
current implementation expectations.
2. We discussed the City's software and hardware maintenance and
management needs for the rest of this fiscal year and next year. The
consensus seemed to be that a City employee would best suit the
City' s needs. We concluded that an individual to be hired would need
to be familiar with Burroughs hardware and with a variety of software
systems. Management skills would also be necessary in order to
effectively coordinate between users, vendors, maintenance
technicians and City management. IPM suggested that it was
interested in continuing as the site manager and that it would be to
the City' s advantage to continue the relationship. This topic will
be discussed further at the February 23rd meeting.
3 . We discussed micro computers and the multiplan spread sheet package.
Randy Clarno and Wayne Lowry will go through the self-training course
on multiplan before the next meeting. We will then decide what type
of micro training will be available to City employees and will
develop a schedule.
