SUBJECT: September meeting
1 . The September meeting has been canceled due to absence of new
business to come before the committee .
2 . Now that the Gaarde Street project is nearing completion, we
are receiving a lot of questions about the signal . Yes, the
signals still need to be replaced. The contractor now expects the
new signals to be installed in mid-September. When the new signals
are completed, there will be separate left-turn signals for
McDonald and Gaarde traffic, which should reduce driver confusion.
3 . The projects funded for Fiscal Year 1992-93 are all moving
ahead. The overlay projects are mostly completed. The slurry seal
projects are scheduled for September. The Bonita/Hall traffic
signal and Main Street pavement reconstruction projects are out to
bid. On the 72nd/99W intersection project, we have been meeting
with adjoining property owners to discuss ways to maintain access
to their properties; once access issues are resolved, preparation
of construction drawings will begin .
