TO: Transportation Advisory Committee September 30, 1992

SUBJECT: October meeting
1 . The October meeting has been canceled due to absence of new
business to come before the committee .
2 . The Bonita/Hall traffic signal construction contract has been
awarded. Construction will start soon.
3 . At their last meeting, the City Council voted to delete the
reconstruction project proposed for Main Street between Scoffins
and 99W. They will be referring this subject back to the Committee
to propose another project . I expect that this subject will be on
your November agenda; so, start thinking again about your
priorities .
4 . This fall the Planning Commission is scheduled to hear a
presentation on the alternative street standards which Portland has
adopted for local residential streets. The standards allow
narrower streets in most locations . I have asked for the
Transportation Advisory Committee to be invited to the presentation
when it is scheduled.
