MEMBERS PRESENT: Jim Corliss, John Savory, Paul Etchemendy, Brian Moore,
Ron Pulliam
OTHERS PRESENT: Liz Newton, John Acker
The meeting started at 7:30 a.m. and the minutes of the February meeting were
approved as written.
The position of committee chair was accepted by John Savory.
The joint City/Chamber Community Design Award program was explained with Brian
Moore expressing interest to be on the selection committee. His name will be
passed on to the design award committee chair.
John explained the periodic review process as related to the economic
development portion (Goal 9) . The process will involve an in-depth analysis of
trends and development potential for the Tigard and the region. The EDC will
be involved in the process through review and comment, as well as having the
opportunity to have direct input into proposing changes to policy or
standards.
Committee members discussed the possibility of doing something to assure that
downtown development/redevelopment remains a priority. It was mentioned that
the goal 9 portion of periodic review will be a forum for raising those issues
that the EDC thinks are important.
