The meeting began at 7:40 AM at Davidson' s Reotaur`ant
The committee discussed the CCPTF bruakfaut meeting of June 24, 1088. The
general feeling was that there were no surprises in the consultant' s report
and that what is needed now is more citizen involvement and visibility. The
other pieces of the revitalization effort (financial plan, etc. ) were
discussed . A question was posed as to which should come first; private
investment or public investment. It was pointed out that there is already
substantial private investment in the downtown area with examples being St.
Vincent De Paul and Washington Federal .
New officers were elected for the committee . The election results : Chairman,
Bill Monahan; Vice Chairman, Brian Moore; Secretary, Amo Debernardix.
Officers shall serve for one year.
The possibility of the committee writing position statements on iouuuo of
economic importance was discussed . Issues such as the minimum wage and
telephone extended area service were discussed as pouoibilitieo . It was
pointed out that it may not be proper for the committee to take public
positions without Council approval . John Acker will check on this .
The
Ambassador Program status was discussed briefly . Bill Monahan said he
would try to follow—up before the next mueting.
The next meeting will be hold Tuesday, August 16, 1988^ at 7:30 AM at
Davidson' s .
