1. Call to Order:
The meeting was called to order at 5 : 30 p.m. by Chairman McMona-
gle .
2 . Roll Call :
Present : Cook, McMonagle, Olson , Goldbach , and Hammes
Staff : Edwards
3 . Communications :
None
4. Hearings :
SDR 9-77 (Burdick Forbes Building)
Review of a freestanding sign
A. Staff Presentation :
Read by Edwards
Staff also stated that Vern Christenson , NPO II , had
reviewed the sign and agreed with the staff recommen-
dation .
B. Applicant ' s Presentation :
Arlie Mawhirter, Luminite Sign Company :
o Presented the proposed sign
o Stated the need for extra height and disagreed with
the staff recommendation because of grade differences
on the site .
C. Board Discussion :
o Board viewed pictures of the site and discussed
various alternatives with staff and applicant .
Cook moved and Goldbach seconded for approval of the
sign with the condition that the sign height be

limited to one foot above the top of the building, not
to exceed 20 feet .
Cook amended the motion and Goldbach seconded that the
approval was for the 6 x 6 foot Swift Mart sign, with
provision made for two tenants .
The motion was approved by unanimous voice vote .
o Chairman McMonagle clarified the motion for the ap-
plicant .

There being no other business, the meeting was adjourned at 6 :45
p.m.
