Tigard Site Development Plan & Architectural Design Review Board
February 24, 1976 - 5:00 p.m.

1. CALL TO ORDER: 5:15 p.m.
2. ROLL CALL: Present: Wakem, Hammes, Cook, McMonagle, Olson;
staff: Powell
3. MINUTES: (Minutes of 1/27/76 were omitted from packets and
not reviewed. )
4. COMMUNICATIONS: None
5. DESIGN REVIEW
5.1 SDR 3-75 (Calway Hills Recreation Bldg./Harley Adams)
(This item is a remodel of an existing
recreation building in a planned develop-
ment and involves no modification of site
plan; therefore, will be treated as
architectural review only. )
A. Architectural Design Review
1. Applicant Presentation
Mr. Adams described the building and pointed out
the surface materials which would be used on the
building elevations and discussed the elevation
of the building visible from the street.
2. Board Discussion
o Motion to approve (Cook).
o Seconded (Wakem) .
o Motion approved unanimously.
6. OTHER BUSINESS
o Mr. Ed Mote and Mrs. Klebe (owners of the"Mote" Building)
brought in a landscape plan as requested by the Planning
Commission (CU 8-76) . The Board discussed elements of
the plan with the owners, specifically:
a. plantings between the building and the post office
b. treatment of the parking area to break up the visual
expanse of that area with shade tree and shrub
planting

c. the free-standing signs proposed
It was the concensus of the board that Mrs. Klebe and
Mr. Mote should submit an application for Design Review
and that official action would be taken by the Board when
that application was received and reviewed.
