Purpose: Observe lot 22 subgrade
Outstanding Issues:
Upon arrival I met with the earthwork contractor(Frank Excavating). I was taken to lot 22 where earthwork crews
had prepared footing subgrade. Contractor had placed approx. 1"to 3"of crushed rock on the surface of structural
fill subgrade. Compaction efforts were done utilizing a walk behind diesel plate. Using a Y2"diameter steel
foundation rod I probed the footing subgrade through the base rock. Probing indicated stiff to medium stiff
subgrade. At the time of my first visit, crews had not yet completed excavations, and so I returned in the afternoon
to confirm conditions on lot 22
Based on our observations and probing the subgrade for lot 22 (indicated on attached site plan) has been prepared
in general accordance with our geotechnical recommendations.
