Box 23397 Tigard, OR 97223 Dear Brad: In Re: Hancock Fabrics As per our discussion on Furth 18, 1987 , I am forwarding to you concerns as relayed to me by Fire Prevention Officer Wannamaker relating to the remodel of the above-noted B-2 Occupancy located at 12244 S. W. Scholls Ferry Road. 1. As we discussed, the south double exit does lead into a fenced area with a gate which, if closed, could block access to a public way. I believe that the Fire Prevention Bureau and Building Department should request the owner to maintain this gate in an open position. 2. The manager has expressed a desire to maintain the west double i door exits. As a result there is no landing around or under these a exits. He would 11 : c to add locks for additional security. As we are all aware, there must be a landing provided, and the locks must be of an approved type. - j. Inspector Wannamaker expressed some concern for the possible over- loading of the mezzanine or second story stockroom area, where heavy materials are to be stored. I am under the impression, and do agree with you, that perhaps this should be addressed as a structural item and if necessary reinforcements for the structure are needed, this could he handled through your office.
